NGA Participates in Northeast Regional Energy Disruption Exercise and Workshop
(Workshop participants from across the Northeast and Federal Government gathered in Providence, Rhode Island)
On July 23, 2024, NGA Vice President of Operations Paul Armstrong participated in a Northeast Regional Energy Disruption Exercise and Workshop in Providence, Rhode Island.
The meeting was hosted by the State Energy Offices in New England and New York along with the Department of Energy’s Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER), National Emergency Managers Association (NEMA) and the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO).
The workshop featured a regional tabletop exercise for an energy disturbance, as well as sessions that engage the state energy office and emergency management leaders' coordination efforts.
During the meeting, Paul Armstrong presented on NGA’s efforts to support security across the region, including as it relates to our mutual aid program, our gas supply task force, our work on Electric-Gas Coordination, and our Operations Programs.
