The Northeast Gas Association is pleased to announce the release of the first production version of the NGA Mutual Aid Playbook — a structured framework designed to guide operators in planning, preparing for, and executing mutual assistance during a natural gas emergency.

While major mutual assistance events in our industry are uncommon, their successful execution is essential to ensuring public and personnel safety. The Playbook serves as a reference tool to support efficient coordination and timely response when such events do arise. It provides operators with a clear set of guidelines to help manage the process effectively and comprehensively from start to finish.

This resource was developed over the past several months in collaboration with members of NGA’s Emergency Management & Mutual Aid (EM/MA) Committee, and will continue to evolve as members apply lessons learned and share best practices.

The Mutual Aid Playbook is available exclusively to NGA member companies.
