Celebrating the Success of the 68th Annual Gas Operations School
We are thrilled to share the highlights of the 68th Annual Gas Operations School, held from June 4-7, 2024. This year's event was a tremendous success, with more than 660 attendees joining us at Bryant University. This year, the School offered more than 75 classes across seven tracks, including: 1) Corrosion; 2) Customer Service; 3) Distribution; 4) Innovation and Management; 5) Construction; 6) Gas Supply, Storage & Transmission, and; 7) Measurement/Control/System Design.
Day One Kickoff General Session
The event kicked off with an inspiring general session featuring honored military veterans Danny Fields and Steve Reis of Holland Supply Company / Utility Solutions Group. Their insights and experiences set an inspiring tone for the days ahead.
Inaugural Executive Symposium on Supply Chain
This year, we introduced the inaugural Executive Symposium on Supply Chain, which saw more than 60 attendees. The symposium offered valuable insights and discussions on the complexities and innovations within the gas industry's supply chain. We look forward to building on this success in future events.
Educational Field Trips
Our students had the opportunity to participate in various educational field trips, including a visit to the Massachusetts Fire Academy. There, they observed LNG firefighting techniques, gaining practical knowledge and hands-on experience that are crucial for their professional development.
Annual Gas Rodeo
The annual Gas Rodeo, sponsored by Mulcare Pipeline Solutions, Inc., was a highlight of the event. Our talented students showcased their skills, completing gas operations tasks quickly, safely, and effectively. The energy was incredible, and the teamwork on display was truly inspiring!
Annual New England Clambake
As always, the annual New England Clambake was a hit. Attendees enjoyed a delightful evening of delicious food, networking, and camaraderie. It's one of the cherished traditions that bring our community together in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
Annual Softball Game
Participants took a much-deserved break after a long day of classes and instruction to play a friendly game of softball. We appreciate the support of Bob Powell of Powell Controls and Steve Dombrowski of Riley Brothers for sponsoring this year. Special thanks to John Rafferty of Beacon Energy Technical Services for acting as the game's announcer! It was a wonderful way to unwind and build connections in a fun and spirited environment.
