This spring, NGA’s Public Awareness Committee launched our annual Public Awareness campaign to help reinforce key safety messages about natural gas throughout the Northeast. As we noted in April, this year’s campaign included a robust mix of outreach – all aimed at increasing public understanding and awareness of safe practices around natural gas.
Now, with the campaign complete, we want to thank all of our member companies and partners who helped make it a success. Your continued commitment to public safety is vital in helping ensure that communities across the region are informed and prepared.
The campaign focused on several critical safety themes, including:
- Calling 811 before digging
- Recognizing the signs of a gas leak
- Knowing what to do in the event of a suspected leak
- Understanding the importance of natural gas detectors
As we close out this phase of the campaign, we are launching the post-campaign awareness survey. This next step is essential in helping us evaluate if the messaging is reaching consumers and their ability to recall these important messages. The feedback gathered will help guide future campaigns and ensure future public awareness communcations continue to resonate with the public.
Thank you again to everyone who supported this year’s campaign.
