NYSEARCH was pleased to host its Quarterly R&D Meeting on June 10-11 in the Greater Boston area. The multi-day event brought together members and partners to collaborate on advancing research and innovation for the natural gas industry.
The agenda featured comprehensive updates on ongoing NYSEARCH initiatives, along with a collaborative brainstorming session designed to shape future R&D priorities. The open exchange of ideas and the collective expertise of attendees underscored NYSEARCH’s role as a catalyst for innovation across the sector. Two research initiatives were presented to the NYSEARCH committee for consideration. One proposal outlined the continuation of microbial Power-to-Gas bioreactor development, and a second proposal focused on optimizing leak pinpointing success by developing best practices around bar-holing procedures.
A highlight of the week was a visit to Bascom-Turner Instruments, Inc. in Pembroke, MA. Participants were given an in-depth factory tour, gaining insight into the meticulous processes behind their natural gas instrumentation manufacturing and testing. NYSEARCH thanks the Bascom-Turner team for their warm hospitality and transparency.
In addition to the technical sessions, attendees had the chance to experience a bit of Boston’s unique charm with a guided Duck Tour, offering historical context and a fun, memorable perspective on the city.
Congratulations to the entire NYSEARCH team on a phenomenal meeting, including Suzanne Chaillou, Andrew Bitar, Paul Pirro, and Callum Lamb.
NYSEARCH looks forward to continuing this important work at our next quarterly meeting in Seattle, Washington. For more information about NYSEARCH or to explore joining our consortium, please contact Ahra Kwon or Mark Gunsalus.
