On November 19, 2024, members of NGA’s Operator Qualifications (OQ) team had the privilege of visiting Rhode Island Energy (RIE) as they commissioned their impressive new Prometric on-site testing facility.

This state-of-the-art testing center is just the beginning. RIE is actively working to expand the new facility, creating dedicated space for hands-on testing. Once completed, this addition will further enhance the resources available to their workforce and support ongoing development in critical operator qualifications.

Rhode Island Energy joined the NGA OQ program in January 2023. Since then, they’ve made significant strides in transitioning to the program, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to excellence and safety. Their success is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and we’re proud to support them every step of the way.

We’re excited to see what’s next for RIE as they continue their OQ and training journey, and we look forward to celebrating more milestones together.
