NGA Hosts Annual LNG Transport Trailer Emergency Response Drill
On October 22, 2026, the Northeast Gas Association (NGA) hosted its Annual LNG Transport Trailer Emergency Response Drill at Northeast Energy Center (NEC) in Charlton, Massachusetts. The event brought together utility representatives, LNG transporters, and emergency response personnel to strengthen emergency preparedness and response capabilities related to LNG transport trailer incidents.

The program included presentations on LNG/CNG emergency assistance planning, LNG transport trailer operations, and an overview of the NEC LNG facility. Participants also took part in a tabletop emergency response exercise facilitated by the Massachusetts Fire Academy, providing an opportunity to discuss response strategies, coordination, and lessons learned in a collaborative, no-judgment environment.
The day concluded with an optional tour of the NEC LNG plant, offering attendees a closer look at the facility and its operations.
NGA extends a special thank you to Robert Lussier and the NEC staff for hosting the event and sharing their facility and expertise. We also thank the Massachusetts Fire Academy, Trans Gas, and all participating members and emergency response partners for their contributions and active participation.
Exercises like this reinforce the importance of collaboration, communication, and continued training among utilities, LNG transporters, and emergency responders. NGA appreciates everyone's commitment to improving LNG safety and emergency response readiness throughout the region.
