The Northeast Gas Association (NGA) is proud to congratulate the 18 industry professionals who graduated from NGA’s Leadership Development I Program on October 24th, offered in partnership with Bryant University.

This program provides a unique blend of academic leadership training from Bryant University professors and industry-focused sessions led by energy sector leaders. Together, these elements equip participants with the tools to lead effectively in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.

The Leadership Development I Program features a combination of in-person workshops and virtual learning, designed to build the critical thinking, communication, and management skills necessary for the next generation of utility leaders.

Throughout the course, participants engaged with an outstanding roster of instructors, including:

  • Professor Beth Carter (Bryant University) - Program lead professor
  • Professor Michael Roberto (Bryant University) – Communications and Safety Cultures Across Different Industries
  • Professor Allison Butler (Bryant University) – Design Thinking for Innovation
  • Meggan Peña (Unitil) – Pipeline Safety Management Systems
  • Mark Gunsalus (NYSEARCH) – Leading Through Adversity
  • Glenn Meyers (NGA) – Energy Innovation & Emissions Reductions
  • Christian Rodrick (NGA) – Supply Dynamics and Regulatory Trends

In addition to technical and strategic learning, the program emphasizes the development of soft skills—such as emotional intelligence, motivational leadership, and effective communication—to help participants become stronger, more adaptive leaders within their organizations.

Graduates also benefited from sessions on influence and negotiation, professional business writing, and leading high-performing teams, all designed to strengthen their leadership presence and operational impact.

The Leadership Development I Program is part of NGA’s ongoing commitment to invest in the future of our industry by providing professional development opportunities that empower energy professionals to meet today’s challenges and shape tomorrow’s solutions.

Congratulations again to all of this year’s graduates! Your hard work and commitment to professional growth are an inspiration to your peers and a tremendous asset to the industry.
